Plastic Man, Woozy and Morgan go on vacation and get stuck with a vampire in an isolated mansion. But no need to be scared, kiddies. It is all in good fun with snappy jokes and comedic art. This self-contained story is extremely entertaining and amazingly, the story is pulled off without resorting to parodies of the vampire genre. The techniques used by the heroes to foil their bloodsucking foe are both highly-original while still making sense. The art is even better than usual with special mention going to a series of thumbnail drawings at the bottom of one page, showing the uses of television evangelists.

One problem in this issue is the use of a rather pedestrian cover that has nothing to do with the story. Maybe comic book insiders may get the joke of Plastic Man arm-wrestling with himself but I doubt if this cover is going to encourage any casual browser to pick up this title. That is a shame since this book deserves much better sales than it is getting.
