The first page of this story has one of the Outsiders using a vulgarity for no reason at all. Later, we have Katana, one of the most formal characters in DC comics, talking like a teenager. This kind of stuff makes it really appear that Winick is "writing down" to his audience, using cheap stunts and trendy phrases to catch their attention. But at least Winick's stories are always exciting-- except for this issue which has the Outsiders split up into two groups, one to follow Donna Troy into space, the other to hunt down supervillains on Earth. The story should be more engaging considering how closely it is linked to the whole "INFINITE CRISIS" mess but sadly, it all tends to drag. The art also looks rushed as though the comic was still looking for a regular artist. Frankly, this title seems to have lost its way and is now just a setting for various massive fight scenes and brutal murders.
