On the world of Ascald, mankind battles over “O-Parts,” powerful relics from an ancient civilization.  An O.P.T. (O-Parts Tactician) has the ability to release and use the power within an O-Part.  Jio Freed, a young boy with a tragic past, dreams of world domination and trusts only one thing – money.  He doesn’t realize that he is a very powerful O.P.T. with a monstrous demon inside him.  With his partner, the treasure hunter Ruby Crescent, Jio seeks to gather as many O-Parts as he can.

In O-Parts Hunter, Vol. 13, Satan, the monster inside Jio, is freed to battle Lord Ikaros.  Ikaros, also known as Beelzebub, has used Ruby to lure Satan into his clutches.  Meanwhile, Cross Biancina, the young man who has sought vengeance against Satan for the death of his sister, arrives as the battle between Satan/Jio and Ikaros/Beelzebub rages.

THE LOWDOWN:  Both inventive and disturbing, O-Parts Hunter is a shounen manga (boys’ comics) that has the imagination (in terms of character design) of Naruto and the edgy violence of Bleach.  With (what seems like) a cast of thousands and a never ending supply of subplots, O-Parts Hunter is always fresh and always seems to offer the reader a new startling visual with every turn of the page.

POSSIBLE AUDIENCE:  Despite its much darker tone, O-Parts Hunter will appeal to the readers of Shonen Jump.
