Welcome back for another week here at News Pop!. We hope you all had a good weekend, whether you were sitting with the family eating turkey or just sitting back and playing a game. We start this week of more news from the next gen console sales scene. Currently, the only way you can get a Playstation 3 at Toys'R'Us stores in Canada is to reserve it. The number of units in each shipment is so low that it seems to work out better that way anyway. All people have to do is put down $50, say which system they want (20 or 60 GB model) and wait for their number to come up, and they are guaranteed to, eventually, get a PS3. Many stores received their second shipment of Wii consoles on Friday, only to be sold out within the hour. There is no news, yet, on when the next shipments will be in, and since demand for the system is so high, most of the phone calls stores are getting are inquiries about Wii stock. People will just have to keep waiting for now.

Strawberry Shortcake goes to DDR

Everybody wants a piece of the Dance Dance Revolution craze. First there was the original franchise, then the copycats and some officially licensed versions for consoles, Mario Mix for instance. Now Dance Dance Revolution is a available in a plug and play format for kids. Majesco and Konami announced the shipment of Strawberry Shortcake – Dance Dance Revolution today. The game, which releases tomorrow, comes complete with the dance pad and features music and characters from Strawberry Shortcake. It also features multiple difficulty settings that make it easy for players of all ages to enjoy, and as an added bonus, strawberry-scented stickers are included free inside the box. Best of all, it plugs directly into the TV, so there's no need to connect it to a separate console, so parents won't have to worry that they don't have the necessary hardware to use it (other than the TV of course). Strawberry Shortcake – Dance Dance Revolution will be available starting tomorrow for $29.99 USD/$39.99 CAD.
