Welcome
to this, the American Thanksgiving edition of News Pop!. This is
going to be a very interesting edition for us, the reason being, we
have nothing to report. We have Thanksgiving, football and people who
like to take time off to thank for today's lack of news. This will
also be the last edition of News Pop! for the week, and since we
don't want to leave you with absolutely nothing, we're going to do a
quick recap of some of this weeks happenings.
This
week saw the introduction of two new consoles into the consumer
market. Though, officially, the Playstation 3 was launched last week,
since it was a Friday we're already considering as having been this
week. The system launched with a lot of press and a lot of hype, but
nowhere near the number of units necessary to fill the demand. The
other console released this week, Sunday, was Nintendo's Wii. The
small and slim console sold out the same morning it released, not due
to shortages like the Playstation 3 however, simply due to demand.
Both systems have had their share of good and bad reviews, the good
mostly pertaining to games and the bad mostly pertaining to hardware
glitches and bugs which have appeared in some units of both consoles,
which, while annoying to any consumer, can be expected with new
system launches.
That
was clearly the biggest piece of news from this week. Thanks to the
system launches, there were many new games released, though there
were also many titles released for other systems too, some highly
anticipated, most not. Have a good weekend everyone, and for you
Americans out there, a good long weekend.
