InfoSpace and Activision partner up

InfoSpace mobile technology company has signed an agreement with Activision to create mobile ports of some of the publisher's most popular games. The list, so far, includes two Tony Hawk titles, Gun and “a selection of Anthology Classic 2600 titles”, including games originally designed for the Atari 2600. InfoSpace is saying that the games “will offer stunning graphics” and “many features of the console versions”, but if past mobile ports are any indication, the games will have a tough time living up to their console, or even portable, predecessors. Stephen Davis, president of mobile and online media for InfoSpace said that “with the increasing availability of 3G handsets, mobile gaming now enables more powerful and dynamic gameplay experiences”, so until people get their hands on the games we'll have to wait and see if they can live up to his word.

2K Games Announces Dungeon Siege II Deluxe Edition

2K Games, part of Take-Two Interactive, has just announced that they'll be releasing a special deluxe edition of Dungeon Siege II. The pack is set to include the game itself, the expansion pack Dungeon Siege II: Broken World, an 8X12 map of Aranna, six printable portraits of Princess Eva, “The Making of Dungeon Siege II” video, wallpapers, concept art and a Broken World short story called Katala's Journey. No news, yet, on what the cost of this deluxe pack will be, but we're pretty sure that as long as it is decently priced, this might give people who've been on the fence about getting the game a bit of extra incentive.
