His books restcomfortably at the top of the sales charts each month and the stories he weavesin them get the fans talking! The current list of Marvel projects Bendis isinvolved with and the creators he is collaborating with is weighty andfar-flung: _HOUSE OF M_with Olivier Coipel, _ULTIMATESPIDER-MAN_ with Mark Bagley, _DAREDEVIL_ with Alex Maleev, _NEW AVENGERS _with DavidFinch, _SECRET WAR _withGabriele Dell'Otto, and of course, his very own special masterpiece, _POWERS_ with MichaelAvon Oeming.
One might wonder whatthese characters and situations have come to mean to Bendis, and which of themhe's grown closest to.

"Well, obviously,those would be the ones I am lucky enough to be writing," says thescribe. "Spider-man, Daredevil, the New Avengers, Jessica Jones, Icould go on and on. But also, the greatest supporting casts- Foggy Nelson, MaryJane Watson, Jarvis...
"That is one of the big reasons my life withMarvel has been so fortunate. I have been given the amazing opportunity tochronicle these characters that mean so much to all of us, with the artistswho's work I think is the best comics has ever seen, and do all of itunder the supervision of one of the best editorial staffs that has ever sat inthe mighty Bullpen."
And Bendis doesn'tforget the fans when thinking back over favorites. "They mean everythingin the world. Honestly, I know I sound like a corndog on a stick, but we're thefirst generation of comic creators to get instant worldwide feedback from ourreaders. That's why I think comics, overall, have gotten so good, because thereader is out there and we know it."
