Comic-Con's Preview Night

Pre-registered guests and industry professionals were invited to an early attendance to The San Diego Comic-Con on Wednesday July 25, 2007. The convention which runs from July 26 to 29 2007, is according to the organization, the largest pop culture event in North America.
The conference, which has grown every year, since it first started in 1970, uses all of the San Diego Convention Center. An entire exhibit hall has been converted into a 6,500 theatre. More than comic book publishers were on hand for the preview night and the remainder of the convention.
While several publishers and vendors were already set up and selling and promoting goods and talent, some were not quite ready. For example, publisher Marvel Comics was still assembling their stage.
Although organization at the convention is tight, the sheer amount of guests makes it difficult for both support personal and attendees to figure out things. There are several line ups and detours to register, pre-register and what not . Often, not even the support personnel know where to “herd” people.
These growing pains show how much the San Diego Comic-Con has grown from the 300 attendees in 1970 to the more than 123,000 expected this year.
