NEW AVENGERS #2 pt. 2 (of 5) "THE RAFT"

It’s high-octane Avengers action from the opening bell. Electro has released all the criminals from their cells, on The Raft, but is this, his Endgame, or is there more!?!

So what did you expect from this issue…..Captain America, Spider-man, Luke Cage and the other hero’s talking out with the villains to reconcile their differences……I mean, it is Bendis, right! Well my friend, this is action all the way and pretty entertaining too. If you think of what would happen if the bad guys these heroes put away got them outnumbered on an island, well, you’ll see it here. There’s a situation with Spider-man that seems perfect within this situation. Someone turns up to help and earths most powerful hero……well, you’ll see :) Great last scent too! And a nice touch is, when a villain appears, we get an info box for them.

Finch handles things nicely here. It’s an all out action issue and the fluidity of the art really helps convey just how gully things are. Some of the villains look generic, I will admit. But there is the feel of intense hatred & satisfaction within them, which is fully appropriate for the circumstances. There’s a real nice full page shoot of Foggy in danger and also a great scene of Cap racing into action. When you see the Sentry scene too, gonna make some happy, others crazy, but whatever, it looks very nice.
