Now the Absorbing Man’s escaped, what will be his next step and who is his female companion?

I have to admit, I was a little worried at first with this issue, as the Avengers scenes seemed slightly off. Now this may be intentional as there’s an air of something larger happening, but I could be wrong. Things really kick into gear though when we get to the Bugle. This issue, we discover a couple of things, very interesting things about Ethan and it’ll be intriguing to see where this all goes. The Absorbing Man’s female companion is serving as a good foil and will she be the undoing of Peter!?!

Like the story, Tan really does take a while to warm up. The first page seems (to me anyway) confusing, but there is a nice reflection touch on the second page. The Avengers pages aren’t bad, but the most impressive scenes come near the end. Concrete Absorbing Man is stunning and then we get the Ethan page which really has a dramatic sense to it. McNiven’s cover does a good job too. Its simple, but hits you on two fronts with what its saying.
