Electronic
Arts' DICE studio announced today that
Mirror's Edge
,
a hyper-realistic, rooftop-jumping first person action adventure
game, will be releasing for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on November

th
.
In
Mirror's Edge
,
players are shown a world through the eyes of Faith, a girl who finds
herself on the run shortly after her sister is framed for committing
murder. With no one to turn to, Faith must make her way across the
city, jumping rooftops, engaging in intense combat, fast-paced chases
and mind bending puzzles in order to save herself.
“
Mirror’s
Edge
is bringing something new to the action-adventure genre this holiday
by putting the player in the shoes of the hero, seeing what she sees,
feeling what she feels,” says Owen O’Brien, Senior Producer for
DICE. “We wanted to create an entirely new experience, with a
different type of heroine and a world that not only looks fresh and
new but has unique gameplay.”
A
demo for
Mirror's
Edge
will
be made available for download via the Xbox Live Marketplace and the
Playstation Network closer to the game's release. Also, beginning
September 26
th
,
players who pre-order the game at participating retailers will
receive and exclusive code that unlocks the game's Time Trial mode in
the demo, essentially giving them a chance to experience more of the
game before its release.
Time
Trial mode challenges players to find the fastest route across the
rooftops and through the streets. Players can upload their best time
to the
Mirror’s
Edge
leaderboards for their friends to download and compete against.
Players can see their friend’s ‘ghost’ run as they race their
way through the course to the top of the leaderboards.
Mirror's
Edge

now scheduled to release on November 11
th
for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 and is rated T for Teen. A PC version
of the game will be shipping later in the winter. For more
