Its the final confrontation between the Legion and Terror Firma with the fate of the United Planets in the balance. The story is told from different viewpoints and is backed with another hilarious "letters-to-the-editor" segment." Why DC allows this is puzzling since it draws attention to the fact that the rest of their titles no longer accept such "letters to the editor." This book is sophisticated, interesting and complex with fleshed out characters in both writing and art. But it is also deadly serious and while not deadly dull, it isn't much fun either. Waid's emphasis on the Legion as some revolutionary movement may be unique but it also gets the story bogged down in all sorts of plot-points about the intricacies of the 31st century's political and social system. LEGION is becoming inaccessible to all but the most devoted readers. This comic could very well turn into another "Reign of the Zodiac"-- and that is not a good thing.
