Captain Valor is stuck on an alternate Earth where his other self never gained super powers. Trying to adjust, is gruelling as Captain Valor’s arch nemesis has also changed dimensions. The problem is that villainess Caliginous’ alter ego on the alternate Earth is the girlfriend of Milo, who happens to be the  alternate self of Captain Valor. Worse, Caliginous wants to have a girly chat with Stephie, Milo’s girl friend who is also her alternate self. Get it?

P.S. did I mention that Milo slept with Caliginous and that now it’s pay back time?

Only Keith Giffen and J.M Dematteis could give us a Bwa Ha Ha tale like this one. The confusion is delectable and the ending, although one can see it coming a mile away is pure joy, when it finally arrives. Most of this issue is a bunch of talking heads with recriminations and blame over the one night stand Milo had with Caliginous. Although most of this issue is about cheating soul mates, the writers still give us a tear jerker at the end, showing us what really matters in life.

Abraham is growing on me. When looking at these pages and the Giffen-inspired layout and grimaces, one longs for Kevin Maguire. However, Abraham shows he can hold his own against such a tough act. I like his grunge geek Milo a lot. He looks like an average guy with too much products in his hair. His lines are thin and shaky, but give the character and this series a unique look.
