Guy Gardner leads the Green Lantern Corps in a showdown with the Spider Guild. This is a massive tale boasting a literal cast of thousands. To make things even tougher, most of the cast are bizarre-looking aliens and many of the panels are clearly too small to show what is going on. Yet amazingly, the creative team actually pulls it off this time. Sure, there are parts that are a tad confusing but the expository dialogue helps explain things and the strength of the characters keeps the story interesting, even if you aren't exactly sure what is going on. The even-handed treatment of Guy, Hal and the rest of the older Lanterns shines as well. Hopefully, the coming regular series that is spinning off from this miniseries will be more even-handed. Let us have great stories that aren't a chore to read.
