At long last, the rematch we have all been waiting for since IDENTITY CRISIS-- Green Arrow versus Deathstroke!!!! Well, actually, no. Deathstroke appears in just one page at the end. They just use the 'stroke as a teaser to keep us reading. Instead this issue has Winick using Mayor Oliver Queen as his own personal political soapbox, socking it to big media, big government and the fatcats. His city is in ruins but Ollie won't allow big corporations to rebuild it. His alternative: gay marraige. They also introduce a new character, a Black, Jewish bodyguard who is an ex-Navy SEAL, ex-CIA, ex-Mossad operative. Yes, they are serious. All of this would be hilarious except that the DC creators are taking it with such dead seriousness it comes off as ridiculous-- and not in a 'fun' way. The art team may actually have some talent but since all we get to see are people standing around talking (and one poorly-executed action sequence), it is hard to gauge their quality. Maybe DC is counting on controversy to sell this book. That is about the only thing that stands out about it. P.S. to Fatcats: if Ollie Queen doesn't want your condos in casinos in his city, please come to my city. We need the jobs and the money.
