Rated “M” for “Mature”

Filled with mafia types, petty thieves, and everything in between, Ergastulum is a tough city.  The law of violence takes precedence over the rule of law.  Thirty-four-year-old Nicolas “Nic” Brown and 35-year-old Worick Arcangelo are “Handymen.”  They are the guys who take care of the jobs no one else will handle – from mundane deliveries to extrajudicial killings.

As Gangsta, Vol. 8 (Chapters 42 to 49) opens, Marco Adriano is confronted by his past as the “Super Destroyer” known as “Spas.”  He fights former teammates “Beretta” and “Striker,” perhaps to the death.  Meanwhile, Ergastulum prepares to go on lock down because the looming peak of the war between the Hunters and the Twilights, as the anti-Twilight protests grow.

[This volume includes four-panel comics.]

THE LOWDOWN:  There has not been a new volume of the Gangsta manga in almost two and half years.  Yes, it has been that long since I last read Gangsta, although the prequel series, Gangsta: Cursed, has filled in the gap.

Gangsta Graphic Novel Volume 8 simply continues the Twilight-Hunter war that has been dominating the narrative for the last three or four volumes.  I still prefer the earlier volumes of the series, but things seeming to be coming to a head, so at this point, Gangsta is for regular readers.  I am glad for Gangsta's return because I think the intensity is getting... more intense, and secrets-revealed is the theme of the day.  So become a regular Gangsta reader!

POSSIBLE AUDIENCE:  Readers looking for stylish violence will want the VIZ Signature title, Gangsta.
