Ninja Gaiden II set for release

Microsoft and Tecmo/Team Ninja announced today that their upcoming hack & slash action game, Ninja Gaiden II , has gone gold and is set to ship for its June 3 ^rd North American release date. In preparation for the game's release, Microsoft has teamed up with the comedy series Ask A Ninja to bring exclusive Ask A Ninja episodes to the Xbox Live Marketplace. These seven video clips, sponsored by Ninja Gaiden II , are meant to help gamers get in touch with their inner ninja. The first three episodes are already online and more will be added on May 27 ^th , June 3 ^rd and June 10 ^th . Xbox Live Gold members are able to view the episodes during their first week of release, while access to the rest of the Xbox Live community will be available the following week.

Also, GamePlay HD will be airing The Way of the Warior: Ninja Gaiden II , a documentary focusing on the history of the ninja and how it impacted the game, on Cablevision IO Digital on May 30 ^th . The hour-long episode will also be available to Xbox Live members for free on the Marketplace starting June 10 ^th . The documentary will bring you close to the members of Team Ninja, as well as historical areas of Japan, real life ninjas and behind-the-scenes footage. Ninja Gaiden II will be releasing for Xbox 360 on June 3 ^rd for $59.99 USD and CAD and is rated M for Mature.

Nintendo re-introduces Metallic Rose as DS colour

Nintendo announced earlier this week that it will be re-introducing the Metallic Rose as a regular part of the Nintendo DS colour palette. The colour originally debuted this past holiday season as part of the limited edition Nintendogs Best Friends bundle and will soon be available on its own at retailers nationwide later this month. Starting May 19 ^th , America Ferrera and Carrie Underwood began being featured in commercials for the Metallic Rose version of the DS. Liv Tyler is also appearing in Nintendo DS commercials featuring the two-tone Crimson/Black Nintendo DS.
