It was like any other big city in the Twenties, the only difference being it was Chicago. a place where life always seemed to be alittle more exciting, if not dangerous. Capone was making a name for himself by selling illegal booze and other vices. After all, prohibition was in full swing, it was a time for speakeasies and bathtub gin for dancing the Charleston and for Women who were often times referred to as Flappers, but aside from all that, Chicago was a special place to be during the holidays. On clarke street, their stood an apartment building where the rent was low and the tenants were noisy. Up on the 3rd floor, suite #333 was the office space of a young gumshoe by the name of Kurt Angelo. It was the Christmas season of '25. Kurt was to be married to a lovely woman by the name of Rita White in 2 weeks time. Today; however, would mark the beginning of a new chapter in Kurts life. A chapter that would bring a curse to his name and death to those around him.

Wow, what a Pleasent suprise. I always tell myself not to judge something before i've tried it (sort of like the old phrase "Don't judge a book by it's cover" ) but more often then not, I find myself doing just that. I had Cry Wolf sitting on my Desk for about 5 Days before I read it, and even then, I decided to read it in the space of me doing nothing, and having to run an erin. Understand, that when you read a Review of something, your reading that person's opinion. What a Review doesn't take into account is "Personal Preference", wether that be Genre, setting, etc. Admittedly, at this time, I'm not extremely fond of the setting in which this story takes place, which is the early twenties (though I have liked some games set around that period, such as the Shadow Hearts Series) This setting, was part of the reason why I wasn't to excited about reading it. Well, i've read it...and it's pretty good.

The Story centers around Kurt Angelo and his search for Peter, by which he was hired by Peter's Father to find. Just about to be Married, Kurt Decides to take the case and Heads off to the Jungles of Borneo to find him. The story is solid, but the biggest gripe I had is that while the story is solid, their are some inconsistencies in how it's told. Don't misunderstand me, the book is well written, but their are definitely some pacing problems here and their. Especially near the end.

The art, while not the greatest in the world, certainly does grow on you, and is easy on the eyes, which provided me with a smooth reading experience. Cry Wolf is a great Genre book, if you have any fondness for the setting, then your gonna like it. Good stuff.
