Aspen announces four brand new properties created in-house by Aspen’s own Vince Hernandez, Mark Roslan, Peter Steigerwald and Frank Mastromauro:
Aspen will be adding four entirely new universes to their stable of titles from the start of 2011 and into 2012. With each series created in-house by Aspen’s own creators Vince Hernandez, Mark Roslan, Peter Steigerwald, and Frank Mastromauro. First out will be “Charismagic,” in early 2011, created by Vince Hernandez and featuring art by Khary Randolph and Emilio Lopez. Aspen describes the all-new series:
Charismagic
Everything you know about magic is about to…
Vanish.
Hank Medley is at the top of his game. He is a Las Vegas magician, or as he prefers to be called-- “An Entertainer.” His life is filled with fame, wealth, and excitement. Yet, his fortune and stardom are about to disappear quicker than his world famous vanishing trick. He will soon discover that magic, something he thought only existed in his fictitious Vegas show, is far more real than he ever imagined. And this shocking find could very well be his last—along with the rest of humanity. Sorcerers, Witches, Druids, Wizards, mythical creatures of legend and more reign free in this all-new, epic action-adventure series, only from Aspen Comics.
Aspen plans to follow this magical action-adventure series with the all-new post-apocalyptic sci-fi series “Broken Pieces,” created by Mark Roslan, debuting in Spring 2011. Following these two offerings, Aspen will launch “Zooniverse,” a space-spanning action-adventure series created by Peter Steigerwald, and “Sunslashers,” a sci-fi thriller created by Frank Mastromauro.
Executive Assistant: Iris will conclude this Summer and Aspen has big plans for the property as they are planning a huge event for the series and are dubbing Summer 2011: “Summer of the Executive Assistant.”
“Lady Mechanika,” Aspen’s all new steam punk action series created by superstar creator Joe Benitez will launch in Fall 2010 and feature an all star cast of covers by Benitez, J. Scott Campbell, David Finch, Ale Garza, Micah Gunnell, and more.
“Fathom” returns in late Summer with the release of “Fathom: Blue Descent,” written by David Schwartz with art by Alex Sanchez and John Starr with covers by popular artist Scott Clark.
Aspen launched “The Scourge” in July, a collaboration with Valhalla Motion Pictures featuring a story created by renowned filmmaker Gale Anne Hurd and written by comic industry veteran Scott Lobdell with art by Eric Battle and David Curiel.
J.T. Krul’s creator-owned series, the espionage thriller “Mindfield” will finish this Fall and the creator has plans for more of the telepathic CIA agents following the first story arc.
Soulfire Volume 2 will conclude in the Fall of 2010 and the final issue will reveal the first look at the Soulfire: Volume 3 art team, yet to be announced by Aspen.
Aspen is proud to announce their foray into the world of digital comics with both all-new original content produced exclusively for the web comic as well popular existing titles in the Aspen library.
Aspen’s first original web comic will be a Fathom story entitled: “Against All Odds” featuring the popular heroine Aspen Matthews by Vince Hernandez and illustrated by Siya Oum. This unique Fathom web comic will be a special story related to the Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill, and ALL of Aspen’s proceeds from sales of the web comic will be donated to the National Wildlife Federation in order to join the fight and help support wildlife affected by the oil spill.
In addition to original content, Aspen will be offering all of their most popular titles in the coming months in the digital format including Fathom, Soulfire, Executive Assistant: Iris, Shrugged, Dellec, Mindfield, and more.
Aspen will be offering up new trade paperbacks of their series coming up in 2010 and 2011 including Fathom: Killian’s Tide, Executive Assistant: Iris, Dellec, Soulfire: Shadow Magic and more.
