Can’t Win with You!, Vol. 2 is the middle of three volumes in the boys’ dorm room series by creators Yukine Honami & Satosumi Takaguchi.  Most of the series focuses on underclassmen Yuuhi Torishima and Sango Tsutsui, the upperclassmen upon whom Yuuhi has a crush, and the series’ bucolic setting is Shuuiku Academy.

In Vol. 2, Yuuhi, a dorm resident assistant, is left alone when the school’s other student administrators end up sequestered at a special conference with the Academy’s Director Ezaki.  Yuuhi takes it upon himself to tame the director’s wild and lecherous sons and fellow students: Riku, Kai, and Kuu.  His next mission is to resolve the latest break-up feud between lovers, Kanya & Hayate.  Later, however, Yuuhi tries to take his budding relationship with Sango to the next level.

Although it is a yaoi manga (comics which feature explicit sex between young men), Can’t Win with You! is gentle and playful.  It’s more or less a comic romp with bickering boys, and the love is less lust than it is lovey-dovey.  Can’t Win with You! would be a safe read with which to introduce readers to yaoi, and is also actually one of my favorite comics.
