By Leroy Douresseaux

August 2, 2005 - 15:13

Candle Light Press, an Iowa City, IA-based publisher of graphic novels, is proud to present a special book for Wizard World Chicago, Aug 5-7--a reprint of the first Tale of Shades and Angels, "Absence".

Previously only available in zine form, this story of the Night Angel and a monster under the streets of Freedom City was first presented by John Ira Thomas and Jeremy Smith in 1995. The story is currently available for reading at the Candle Light Press website at www.candlelightpress.com, but this is your chance to own a copy of your very own! It features a new cover and introductory essay by John Ira Thomas.

"This was Jeremy and my first comics work together," said Thomas. "It's the beginning of a great friendship and partnership."

The book was produced through ComiXpress, an on-demand printer of comics. "We are big believers in on-demand technology," said Thomas. "And ComiXpress has done a great job with this book."

The book will be available for one dollar while supplies last at the Candle Light Press table in Artists Alley, table 9123. See you there!
