Electronic
Arts and Criterion Games announced the release date for its Davis
update, now called the Bike Pack, for
Burnout Paradise
today. This Thursday, September
18
th
,
Burnout Paradise
players will be
able to download this new pack, which features the first appearance
of bikes in the
Burnout
franchise, as well as a full day and night cycle (24-hour clock)
which will affect available events and turn Paradise City into a more
realistic city, where traffic density changes based on the time of
day. Watch the sun set at Big Surf, or freeburn on the highway on one
of two brand new bikes. The clock speed is also customizable, so the
time of day is completely up to you.

With
the introduction of bikes to
Burnout Paradise
also
comes the introduction of “human” riders. You can now choose to
play as a male or female character and start a whole new run for a
Bike License. This latest update also includes 70 more Freeburn
Challenges, for some intense biking action. These bike exclusive
challenges are split 50-50 between regular and timed.
One
final, also major, change comes with the Bike Pack, and that's a
dynamic weather system. It may have been sun and surf all day in
Paradise City until now, but not anymore. Now, day or night, there is
a possibility of showers and, who knows, maybe some snow up in White
Mountain. Criterion hasn't divulged much about the new dynamic
weather system, so we'll just have to see how it works once we
download the pack.
