From the directing team of Will Speck & John Gordon, who have helmed at least one of the Geico cavemen commercials (and who are directing a TV pilot for ABC based upon the commercials), comes the new Will Ferrell comedic send-up, Blades of Glory.

World champion pairs figure skating displays the marriage of athleticism and grace arguably more than in anywhere else in sport.  Blending strength and sophistication, prowess and artistry, and brawn and refinement may well result in the perfect score.  Still, this was an elegant world, a rarefied universe and a noble place until the macho, swaggering Chazz Michael Michaels (Will Ferrell) took the rink.  This rock star of the skating arena leaves a trail of thrashed ice and shrieking female fans in his wake.

Classy, Olympic gold medalist skater Scott Hamilton interviews two classless skaters.

Jimmy MacElroy (Jon Heder) is the only competitor who can match Michaels' scores on the ice (if not with the ladies).  This driven former child prodigy, who was spotted at an orphanage before being whisked away to days of endless training, is the picture of poise, as he personifies the highest ideals of men's figure skating.

Michaels and MacElroy have met before, but their head-to-head at the World Championships results in a gold medal-winning tie.  That's more than either can bear, and their rivalry results in a no-hold-barred brawl that ends with the World Championship's mascot on fire.  Called before skating's governing board, they're stripped of their gold medals and banned from the sport for life.

Both men fall apart, but they find a loophole that gets them back into skating.  To get back into the sport, Michaels and MacElroy must join forces and become the first male/male figure skating pair.  They must now be able to put aside their differences, but, still, the sport may not survive this new history making team.
