BLADE (2006) #7

MARVEL
WRITER: Marc Guggenheim
ARTIST: Howard Chaykin
COLORIST: Edgar Delgado
COVER: Mardo Djurdjevic
32 pp., Color, $2.99

In Blade #7, entitled, "The Mithridates Process," our vampire killing, vampire hero, Blade meets his end.  Yep, that's right.  A new opponent, Draconis, does the honor, but there's more to this story, including an appearance by Blade's old stomping crew, The Bloodshadows.

Writer Marc Guggenheim continues to delight with this latest incarnation of Marvel's resident vampire smasher.  With this series, Marvel finally produces a Blade comic that is at least in striking distance of the (mostly) excellent Blade film franchise.  Each issue's tale is self-contained, but offers new mysteries - something to make you tune in again.

Artist Howard Chaykin continues to grow more comfortable with character.  This issue, his brushwork is smoother, and Edgar Delgado's color polishes the art, giving it a sparkling shine.

7/10
