Only one Avenger would be daring and cocky enough to address the raging She-Hulk in this manner-Hawkeye. Whenever Hawkeye returns to the Avengers, it's always a big event, but, unfortunately, it's the only significant event in Geoff Johns and Scott Kolins' "The Search for She-Hulk, part 2: Savage Attack." "Savage Attack" is an apt name since that's all the issue's about. There is little story-just She-Hulk attacking a town and Ant-Man emotionally attacking a teammate. Also, the fighting scenes with She-Hulk lack creativity as the Avengers mostly dodge and block amidst chaos. Yet once Hawkeye arrives in his uniquely flamboyant style, this lackluster issue brightens. Hawkeye's entrance and dialogue are perfect. Kolins' art is lively but exaggerated. Faces are excessively animated, undermining the story's somber, tragic theme of heroes losing control. Yet with Hawkeye, the exaggeration feels appropriate because Hawkeye's an extreme character. He strikes a heroic pose-sunlight shimmering off golden skin and tunic flapping in the breeze. Here, the art succeeds in capturing the mood-a dramatic return of a fan favorite.
