Its the action-lacked, all-talking issue appropriately titled, "Conversations with Vulko" where we are shown that the old continuity of Aquaman is still very much around and that there is a link-- of sorts between this new Arthur Curry and the old, vanished one. There is something reassuring about this issue as we learn what has happened to old friends and how old plot ties are being resolved. If only they could have done this in a more exciting manner as much of this issue comes close to being outright boring. At least there is the promise of an undersea war in the coming issues to keep us excited. The art tells the story effectively but de Zuniga makes Guice's pencils look even scratchier and muddier than before.
