Blog ComicBookBin Android Beta Released By Hervé St-Louis August 28, 2010 - 06:04 Just in time for the Toronto FanExpo, Canada's largest comic book show, The Comic Book Bin is releasing a beta ComicBookBin app. ComicBookBin beta for Android contains a newsreader which in landscape mode switches to a carousel view. Users can browse through the latest articles published at the ComicBookBin. Also included in this release is our Convention Calendar which allows users to view upcoming comic book shows. This beta is of course a download at your own risk and several of the features that are available in other platforms are disabled or not working in the Android app. For example, the search is not working in the newsreader. Users may have varying experiences on adding calendar events to their GMail calendar app. The app is unsigned, so users must have the right privileges to install unsigned Android apps on their devices. A few The build of the app is solid though. Because of the way the app works, it needs to have access to the GPS and location services, access to phone calling features, and of course full access to the Internet and data services. We're hoping that Android fans can provide us with great feedback on the app while we continue to make it as good as the one for iOS and webOS. Any feedback is useful. We know the app is not "there yet." I personally know all that it lacks and misses, but in the spirit of Android and its community, we understand that users will be more than happy to test this product even if it says it's a V1.0 and is not all polished.
