Send More Cops

Rules, guidelines, structure. Unconsciously understood and followed conventions by the general populace. But some 'people' flout these rules. No running in the streets. No diving in the shallow end of the pool. No biting, punching or gouging. They don’t care. Anarchistic and rampant, that’s them. Yes, people flout these and others rules alright. And these people are zombies.

Zombies...no respecters of queueing

Rules to live by pay a big part in Zombieland. And they are just that, rules to keep you among the living. In a world of zombies they make perfect sense. The lead character has a booklets worth of rules!  They boil down to these; to Be fit, extra careful and don't be brave. Follow these three main tenets, and you may just live to see nightfall.

Zombieland is a surprisingly warm film, a sort of buddy-buddy road movie with monsters. It has character development, a hint of romance, some great set pieces, visual gags and plenty of laugh out loud moments. And of course, the now famous cameo. (I'm saying nothing; it is still nice to be surprised in a movie afterall.) All of the actors acquit themselves very well.

The romance is handled well. And no, it isn't with a zombie, what kind of film do you think this is! Haha. A zombie’s love of flesh is definitely less than romantic.

There are no such things as zombie pigeons...... right?

The biggest grossing zombie movie of all time (it raked in 74 million dollars) , Zombieland is great fun. It is well directed, with some quirky visual delights. It is  darkly funny, has a good few scares and gory moments, moves along at just the right pace and leaves one feeling satisfied. In short, it is a very good movie.
