Professor X and the Danger Room’s sentient computer android, Danger have figured out a way to restore Rogue’s control over her powers and stop her from absorbing the powers and life essence of those she comes in contact with. But before the Professor can perform the operation, a couple of Shi’ar warriors are attempting to kill Rogue after having beaten Gambit. Will Rogue be strong enough to defeat them?

This issue is what I consider a cleanup story where an old plot point about Rogue is finally dealt with allowing her to move on to new territories as the new main character of this series. That’s a good a and a bad thing. I like that Rogue is allowed to grow and move away from the one trick pony theme that defined her character. But I also believe that it was done too quickly. By the end of the issue, she is able to touch and kiss Gambit without absorbing his life force. I’m not sure where this series is going and I hope Professor X will not simply fade in the background.

The artwork was very good. It’s not spectacular, but Eaton portrayed the characters well and gave each of them unique visual features. I liked the inking by Hennessy. It was strong enough to compliment Eaton’s pencils.
