Wonder Woman’s medic attempts to replicate her powers so that she can heal herself from a degenerative disease. Wonder Woman attempts to rescue Etta Candy who was hurt during the bomb’s explosion at the wedding they were attending last issue.

Dr. Crawford who is Diana’s medic tries to steal her powers. I’m sorry to say that this story is substandard and poorly written. It felt like a story of the month from older comics where one-offs villains obtained powers from heroes easily and became rampaging monsters. Here, Crawford was able to pierce Wonder Woman’s skin after the heroine just resisted a full blast from a bomb.

This is seriously what happens here. It is a major downgrade from Greg Rucka’s Wonder Woman which regardless of its flaws was a much better comic. It’s a pity that this is the best comic that is produced about Wonder Woman, DC Comics’ flagship character today. This issue was modelled after She-Hulk’s origin, however, the Marvel heroine’s story was created when such things were simpler.

The artwork looks nice and cuddly and would probably be a better fit for an Archie comic. Etta Candy’s skin colour keeps becoming lighter and looks way less like the black woman that she looked when she was drawn by Liam Sharp and coloured by Laura Martin. Mirka Andolfo’s and Romulo Fajardo’s work is fine but not the right fit for this comic. I think that I’ll have to stop reading this series until the next writer comes by. This comic is a disappointment.
