Torres Penciller(s): Julian Lopez, Bit Cover Artist(s): Bernard Chang Wonder Woman picks up the pieces of both the Amazon Attack and her new life, beating up old monsters and looking up old friends in this transition issue. New writer Gail Simone is taking over in the next issue and so the creative team can't really rock the boat this time. Still, they turn in a fine effort, showcasing the character and her supporting cast well. Basically, we get a rundown on the current status quo of the Wonder-cast: Wonder Woman is still considered a hero by the general public but the Amazons are hated and Wonder Girl is under suspicion while Hippolyta remains in exile on Paradise Island, sealed off from the rest of the world. The dialogue-- and yes, narration are genuinely moving without getting too sappy while the art has a special intensity to it, making even the 'quiet' dialogue scenes look exciting. Arguably, not much really happens in this issue but it helps the title regain its footing after all the confusion of the past few issues and the big "AMAZONS ATTACK" miniseries while also setting the stage for better things to come.
