Torres Cover Artist(s): Sanford Greene, Nathan Massengill Wonder Girl returns, picking up the pieces of the Amazon Attack, including the various mythic monsters that the Amazons left scattered in their wake. While acting as a superhero, Cassie, the new Wonder Girl, must also deal with other problems like being separated from both her mother and Wonder Woman and being hated by the general public who see her as a traitor who sided with the invading Amazons and tried to kill the president. The story has fast-moving action and some scenes of genuine drama as a conflicted hero tries to do good things in a world that hates her. But the writer barely explains what happened before and why Wonder Girl is in this kind of situation. Maybe the creative team assumed everyone had read the AMAZONS ATTACK miniseries and all its related tie-ins. Considering how convoluted AMAZONS ATTACK was, they certainly should have filled the reader in on the details. The Wonder Girl in this series is also rather unlikeable although this may be consistent with her recent appearances in other comics where she has been making bad decisions and offending other people rather casually. The art is in a highly-cartoonish style, more like an issue of the "Johnny DC" line. It is eye-catching but it can also look pretty flat, making many of the potentially-exciting scenes, like the battle with the Hydra, look dull.
