In this issue, the Squadron Supreme, still suffering from speech disability and difficulty in using their powers, attack the Fantastic Four, only to find the Ultimates and the X-Men opposing them in their destructive midtown path. But the Squadron Supreme doesn’t give up and attempts continue to try to reach their goal, Reed Richard, although they are outnumbered. Will the Squadron Supreme bring Richard to justice?

I enjoyed the fight very much but must admit that this story is short on story. Why do publishers continue to promote comic book writing padding is beyond me? A decade ago, this issue and the preceding one would have occupied no more than twelve pages in a comic book. There are no nuances or anything gleaned from this expanded nothingness that will inform the reader. At the very least, if writers like Bendis, would include subtle information in their expanded filler space, they would at least have a solid claim on which readers could waste their time buying their comic books.

The artwork by Land as usual is good. He draws great women. However, all of his women have the same face. Granted they have a beautiful face, but when an Asian character, such as the Wasp is virtually, indistinguishable from Storm, and African character, there is a problem.
