Hello and welcome to the Second Annual Binnie Awards, a place where the writers and contributors to the Comic Book Bin hash out what was the best and worst of the last year in comic books and their various media incarnations! 2011 was quite the eventful year, from massive reboots to wonderful independent creations to a surprising summer blockbuster season starring some of our favourite characters. So, The Binnies are unlike most awards that come out this year to try and recognize this. Rather than try to figure out a number one spot and give you maybe a single runner-up, we like to instead provide you with a bit more options. So the Binnies is instead non-competitive, a place where you can find where a group of the best comics had to offer this year rather than arbitrarily assigning designations to what is actually a bunch of great stuff. I guess you could say the Binnies operates more like an Editor's Choice list.
So enjoy all eight categories (which are linked up to your right) and debate away about what some of our writers believe to be what 2011 should be remembered for, for better or worse!
