Marvel Comics
Writer: Brian Michael Bendis
Artist: Frank Cho

It’s Doctor Pym, Ultron’s creator to the rescue. This issue reveals another one of Tony Stark’s secret plan B that surprises everyone when they are announced. Will that be enough to stop Ultron from conquering the Earth?

Something tragic happens to one of the Avengers that should add a serious scar to their personality for some time to come. It’s interesting as this Avenger had limited exposure to Ultron, unlike the older ones. This fight, in the right hand, will become his fight. Hopefully, what Bendis is hinting at next will come through next issue. Finally, Ares shows that he is not a wiping boy for every super villain and that he actually deserves to be an Avenger. However, he has a sinister look to him that tells me the Wasp may be threatened by him next issue.

Cho uses a lot of repeated panels and zoom ins, which are tested storytelling tricks that get the story working. It’s amazing that an artist of his talent doesn’t give in to the temptation of creating posters and really adheres to the storyline. It makes for a great composition. His Achilles’s heel is anything technology related. His grit doesn’t work on characters like Iron Man. Although his humanized Ultron rocks.
