Robin has been writing bad poetry for Starfire and it’s so poor that he throws them in the toilet where they clog the plumbing and create a giant spill that the Titans must fix. Will the Titans stop the spill without Starfire reading Robin’s bad poetry?

The premise is fun, and the story is cute. But it was boring and I am not sure how children might respond to the wackiness. It felt a bit forced and not something random and really looney. Hardcore DC Comics readers will enjoy some the jokes although the writers tend to explain them when they should not.

In the second story, the Teen Titans stop in the middle of a fight with the Brotherhood of Evil so that they can go to their spring break. The H.I.V.E. Five join them with other villains and they become friends, until fighting starts again. Aren’t the Titans supposed to be on break? This story is not as fun and is mostly a series of gags.

The artwork in both stories is good and on model with the Teen Titans Go television series. The artwork in both stories is the main draw and the best thing. The characters look like little runts, but they are still very dynamic. The colouring is not as flat as it appears and has enough texture and dimensions.

I’m not sure if children will appreciate such comics which seem to be written for kids but really need the insight of an adult reader with extensive background information on the characters to decipher all of the in-jokes.
