This new Street Fighter series introducing new characters
and conflicts will synchronizes with the just released video game. Abel, a
brash martial artist is seeking Shadaloo informants so he can infiltrate and
stop them. Crimson Viper, a spy and master thief accepts to infiltrate Shadaloo
to do the same. Will the new Street Fighter characters be a match for Shadoloo?
Honeslty, the only reason I picked up this issue was
because the artwork looked good. From past Street Fighter comic books, I am
fully aware that the stories are poor if non non-existent. This issue didn’t
surprise me. It’s not even necessary to read the caption or get the back story
to hop along for the ride. These comic books are starting to feel like bad Jean-Claude
Van Damme movies. How long until they reach Chuck Norris status?
While the art is beautiful the storytelling is
poor. It helps a reader a lot when he knows what’s going on in a panel. So not
only are the stories poor, now the artwork is just as irrelevant. The colouring
really gives an animé look to the comic book. There’s a lot of action in this
comic book. However, the artist is not very good at fight choreography, which
is a prerequisite for a comic book highlighting martial arts.
