This collected edition contains a digital movie, a DVD and Blu-Ray version with many featurettes about the past Bond Girls. This film is the final transition for James Bond filmmakers telling stories about the iconic British super agent. The realistic storytelling style is reminiscent of the Jason Bourne films where character development matters as much as the conflict Bond is trying to solve. In Skyfall, viewers find out more about James Bond’s secret origin for the first time. They learn that he is of Scottish descent and an orphan rescued by the state and trained to become a secret agent years ago. Decades ago, he abandoned his family estate to serve the British crown. He revisits his heritage when he has to hide Mom, MI6’s leader. Mom is the target of the terrorist groups that have attacked MI6. As a transition adventure, Skyfall combined older elements of the James Bond myth such as gadgets, beautiful locales, gambling and beautiful women with sensibilities similar to Jason Bourne and other action thrillers. It was more a suspense thriller than a science fiction epic. The only element of the film that did not get a total revamp was the crazy villain part which was lively and integral to the story.
