A tale told in two parts, as Cliffy and Scooby-Doo wait patiently for the Scooby Gang + 1 fortify the mall in which they’re hiding. Outside is a mass of sub-human creatures. Inside are two factions of “consumerites,” as they are being called – shoppers from Mears and CJ Nickels in monster form. But are Cliffy and Scoob entirely safe? Well, perhaps up to a point.

MEANWHILE… Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and Daisy are trapped in another part of the mall. That’s where the fighting is happening. Not just the consumerites, but the Scoobies themselves. Friction and stress is beginning to fracture the team, and rivalries old and new are beginning to show.

Other than that, not much really happens in this issue. No real plot advancement, and if it’s an attempt to cultivate characters, it misses the mark, in my opinion. The Scooby gang are about as developed as they need to be, and the new characters (Daisy and Cliffy) don’t need much development; certainly not an entire issue.

This issue also includes the latest chapter of Secret Squirrel. More bickering going on there, too, between Agent 000, Moroccan Mole and Agent Honey Bea. And the mastermind behind their mission is exposed, as well as the ridiculosity of the Wiley Wolf (loosely translated).
