Meanwhile, Cain makes his checkmate move, revealing his ultimate motives. Justin Jordan and Ibrahim Moustafa keep the horror dread level high in the 5th chapter of their smart and taunt Silence of The Lambs meets The Siege tale of psychopaths run amok, personal vendettas, and a city brought to its knees by all of them. Jordan also manages to recapture some of the chilling horror that is the psychopathy of the main characters in this issue, a horror that he got away from in last issue. While the actions of the two main protagonists are chilling, Cain and Abel are now more acting more like action heroes and villains rather than exponentially intelligent and completely immoral and conscienceless monsters, except in the flashbacks, which drip with coldness and inhumanity. Despite the change in the horror tone, Moustafa's art remains wonderful and perfectly suited to the tale, even as it switches back and forth between different times in the life of Cain and Abel.
