OMG! That cover. Mad props to editors at DC.

Reminiscent of the death of Superman cover, except of course with the inverse S.

This issue would be heartbreaking if it wasn’t a comic book. Even so congratulations Scott Lobdell, you hit me right in the feels. Issue 12 picks up where the last one left off. Bizarro is seriously injured and basically on life support while red hood and Artemis watch over him.  Until Solomon Grundy starts wreaking havoc. And Artemis and Red Hood confront Grundy and basically get their butts kicked. From the infirmary Bizarre hears that his teammates are in distress and need him so even injured he goes to help two of the only people that have befriended him. It doesn’t go well.

There are obvious parallels between this and the iconic “Death of Superman”.

The art is different not as clean or stylized as some comics, yet it works. Bizarro looks realistic for what he is, Artemis is a little too overdone(fanboys won’t complain I am sure.) Red hood looks sharp and the backgrounds are well detailed.
