Some answers,
finally, as 2MorrowsTech has captured Raven and her mother. Combining science
with sorcery, they hope to suss out a solution as to why Raven is the sole
survivor among Trigon’s children. Discover that, and they discover a means to
conquer a multiverse – though Raven playing dumb only enables exposition for
those who are NOT playing dumb.
But not everyone is so
keen on Trigon’s resurrection, and that includes “the sisters” who have been
gifted with abilities. Baron Winters isn’t keen on it either, and is fed up
with the cryptic wording of the “tomes” in his library. I find his reaction to
it all rather amusing, as if his library of arcane texts has been co-opted by 7th
level D&D wizard.
Layers to Ravens origin
help solidify her role in the current DC Universe, while building on the
foundation that Wolfman himself laid almost four decades ago. He has retained
the best of the past while adding to it, and that’s a good thing.
As we approach the
half-way mark in this series, a stronger narrative has begun to emerge. I hope
Wolfman can sustain this momentum, and launch us toward a rollicking fun
conclusion. I’m confident in his abilities as a comic book writer. It simply remains
a question if the current DC editorial climate will have the sense to get out
of the way and let him do what he does best.
