Yes, comic books are stupid. However, with each new discovery, hopefully, we can end the cycle and find something all-new and all-different to justify our Wednesday spending habits. That is One Shot...
Didn’t I already review this #1? I swear I did…
So confounding that its existence actually required an explanation on page one, AvX: Versus #1 is a shameless crossover tie-in to the Avengers vs. X-Men nega-event. The book is meant to detail the supposed titanic battles between "Earth’s Mightiest Heroes" and the "Children of the Atom." Sadly, there are people far above the age of seventeen who care about who would win in a fight between Magneto and Iron Man (I think science has preemptively declared the victor, you crusty old fanboy).
Look…the book itself is horrible. The fact that it exists separately outside of the main event book is horrible. That people will be at their local comic shop bitching about how Thing beat Namor is horrible. The fact that this piece of @$#%$ is $3.99 and filled almost entirely with Adam Kubert splash pages is horrible. And, the fact that someone as talented as writer Jason Aaron (Scalped) has been reduced to bush league Chris Claremont is horrible.
That taste in the back of your throat? It’s the 90s. It’s coming back.
