An older Kato returns to Japan after years of service with the Green Hornet in America. But old enemies await and decide to murder his wife. Will Kato be able to defeat this new foe who knows so much about him or will he dies like his wife?

I’m reading all the Green Hornet series, and there is a point where this becomes overkill. So there is a Kato series set in the past that fits with the other Green Hornet series also set in the past. This one is set in the present, although, so far, I still can’t say if this Kato is supposed to be the same one from the past or if there has been a Kato or even a Green Hornet before the current generation. That’s a problem that Dynamite Comics is gonna have to resolve so far if they want to induce readers into reading so many different portrayals of their protagonists. This series seems to be tied to the current Green Hornet series by Kevin Smith and the main villain seems the same. My question is why reveal precious plot elements in this series instead of the other one. It feels like stealing the thunder of the Kevin Smith Series. I will say that the timeline in this issue was all over the place and frankly I’m not sure where we are reading a flashback and where we are reading stuff that happens in the present. So instead of immersing the reader in the narrative, the writers make them scratch their head.

The art changes a lot from the beginning to the end. I really wonder if this is the same artist here or if he farmed out some of the work of an unaccredited one. I don’t like the first few pages, but later, the artwork and the characters’ proportions become more normal.
