Stargirl's birthday has been ruined by Black Adam in earlier issues. To remedy the problem, her step-father organizes a new one where every JSA members are invited. Her best birthday gift: a place among the Justice Society's teachers. Her birthday wish: to get rid of her braces.

This is the last issue of Geoff Johns on JSA. He has been on board since the first relaunch in 1999 and have been the regular writer ever since. His run contains many major moments for characters that had been often ignored by other writers and I consider it very good and consistent. So when I heard that he was leaving, I had big expectations for this issue. To say that I was disappointed by his farewell song is a bit of an understatement. The story is cute and remind me of holidays (Christmas, Thanksgiving) issues he did previously but past that there is not much more to say. I feel that this issue was much more a treat to himself and that he used it to «promote» a character he created and genuinely care about. Starman breaking the fourth wall is also something funny and is Johns' way of saying goodbye but I believe a talented writer like him could do a lot better than that.

Penciler Dale Eaglesham is also leaving the comic books. Like Johns, he has been on board for a while and I will definitely follow him where is next assignment takes him. His style is perfectly suited for the superhero genre. He has visually helped define many of the Justice Society members and I'm sure that his successor will somehow be measured with the standard he has set for this title.

Not a bad issues but as far as last issues go this one did not met my expectations. It felt a bit hollow and as I said above, I feel Johns wrote it for himself and that he wanted to leave a legacy to one of his favourite character.
