When Noh-A Joo found herself murdered then brought back to life as a result of the supernatural exploits of Jack Frost, she found herself entrenched in a world full of demons and ghouls battling it out for supremacy.

Volume 4 see’s Jack’s handler, Helmina, showing what she is capable of in a battle against former ally Jin. As it turns out, Jin is being manipulated by arch-foe Siegfried in the hopes that the two friends will kill each other. Of course, since Jack is the titular character, the latter half of the volume casts the spotlight on his battle with a rather large bruiser that takes us into an overly long flashback.

As far as fighting series go, Jack Frost is perfectly acceptable so long as audiences are fine with gratuitous amounts of sex and violence coupled with a somewhat convoluted story. The volume’s biggest flaw is the break from the current action to reflect on past events. This rarely works in any medium and only serves to jar readers.
