This issue is the origin of this universe's/timeline's Supergirl. The opening panels recap Krypton's destruction and her being sent to earth. Once she lands on earth Supergirl, or rather Kara discovers she had been travelling for many years. The first person she meets is Black Adam, who is still as loyal to the tyrant Superman as he is to anybody. Adam explains what happened with his own twist, he describes how the injustice reality came to be. Black Adam does some bad@ss stuff, but not too much action in this issue.

Despite that it is a compelling issue. Kara is portrayed as a little naïve and gives off stranger in a strange land vibes which is interesting because it allows me as a reader to empathize with her a little more than usual.

I’m not a huge fan of the art this issue, can’t pinpoint why it just doesn’t appeal to me.
