This issue opens with Constantine in the morgue assisting a once upon a time flame with a case.

Luckily , but not for him Constantine has gifts that aid in this case which involves dwarves. And he is very quick to point out these aren’t like Tolkien's or Disney’s dwarves.

As readers of the Hellblazer know, although Constantine has abilities he is far from the typical hero. He is sarcastic and snarky, a drinker and somewhat of a hot mess. Which is part of what makes him compelling and fact this comic is full of his internal monologue makes it a very interesting and entertaining book to read.

After drinking mead with the dwarves Constantine slips into a dream state and is confronted for his sins by Swamp thing and Zatanna.

This comic is dark and fun which is how the readers like it I imagine.

The art is very bold and realistic every wrinkle on Constantine’s wardrobe is visible . it is bright without being too bright. The art matches the overall tone of the story.
