Penguin has come to town, and brought with him a batch of Batman’s B-list bad guys, who are making life difficult for Harley. Who would have thought that the Joker’s ex-girlfriend would become the savior of New York City, Coney Island specifically? But greater trouble seems to be brewing; possibly a gang war among Batman’s rogues gallery.

Meanwhile, Harley remains dis-associated from her associates – except for Deadtool, who’s been secretly helping Harley out with her various battles. But even that little concession is destined to come to a screeching halt.

It’s good to see Harley mixing it up with the rest of the DCU. Sure, she’s been hanging out with Poison Ivy and Power Girl, but this current storyline cements her pretty firmly into the overall continuity. One might argue her appearances in Suicide Squad already do that, but not to me. It’s almost like a different Harley. Hmmm… could it be there ARE two Harleys?

I am uncertain about Inaki Miranda’s artwork in this issue. I hate to get judgmental right out of the gate, but I was a bit turned off. But I’m willing to keep an open mind and allow Inaki to settle in more before I start comment on artistic choices.
