Harley’s campaign for mayor is going pretty well, despite the Scarecrow’s drug-induced chaos from last issue. And when the peoples of New York ask for more green space, having someone like Poison Ivy on her team doesn’t hurt. Well, it does and it doesn’t. Ivy can get the job done, sure, but sometimes, too much of a good thing is a bad thing.

Meanwhile, Mayor DePerto has decided enough is enough. With no one left to turn to, he’s decided it’s time to take matters into his own hands. But what master plot he has in mind to de-rail Harley’s electoral bid remains to be seen. Fragments come to light, but how Harley’s going to get out from under – assuming she can – will have to wait until next issue.

John Timms returns to the drawing board for this issue, and is most welcome. He’s become a key ingredient to team Harley. While others may fill his shoes from time to time, I have come to recognize him as THE current Harley artist.

This is a strong book. It’s light and casual, but in the world of comic books, that’s not always easy to pull off without going off the rails entirely. Conner and Palmiotti have turned a villain’s henchwoman into an A-list character. It’s not often one gets to see someone rise through the ranks to stardom.
